China and Brunei have been linked by the Maritime Silk Road since ancient times. Today, the Belt and Road Initiative injects new momentum into economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.
Recently, the first phase of the solar and energy storage power station, for which LISINER delivers the overall energy storage system solution, has been successfully connected to the grid and put into operation. This facility forms a flagship Belt and Road cooperation project jointly developed by China and Brunei.

The first phase energy storage system has an installed capacity of 23.8MWh, operating in coordination with the 47.5MW photovoltaic system. It delivers highly reliable power supply for the industrial zone on Pulau Muara Besar, Brunei and optimizes the regional energy mix.
Empowering the Green Silk Road
This energy and chemical base is the largest foreign investment project ever constructed in Brunei, and also a key component of Belt and Road Initiative implementation in the country.
Petroleum refining and chemical production features sophisticated interlinked processes, with large-scale facilities running under heavy loads for extended periods. It imposes extremely high requirements on the stability, continuity and instantaneous response capability of the power system. The humid, high-temperature and heavy salt-spray conditions on the island further raise the threshold for the safe and reliable operation of the energy storage system.

LISINER delivers a tailored, high-safety, high-stability and high-efficiency solution adapted to island operating conditions.
The power station is equipped with 8 units of C2982L1 containerized energy storage systems. Each 20-foot single cabin has a capacity of 2.98MWh. Featuring high integration and high energy density design, the system occupies compact land space. With C5-M anti-corrosion grade and IP54 protection capability, it can operate sustainably in tropical island environments. Intelligent liquid cooling thermal management technology maintains operating temperature below 35℃ to secure battery service life and stable performance.
To meet the demand of energy and chemical enterprises for high power and rapid regulation, the energy storage system adopts a low-voltage centralized frame design and supports 1P charge and discharge rate, which can instantly supply high-power electric energy to production lines at critical moments.

The system can maintain full-power output to guarantee stable power supply during peak electricity consumption or in emergencies with sudden power drop.
The energy storage system undertakes multiple tasks including smoothing photovoltaic power fluctuations, peak shaving and valley filling, and providing backup power. It maximizes the consumption ratio of local renewable energy and substantially reduces power costs for production. Meanwhile, reduced fossil fuel consumption directly delivers carbon emission reductions, supporting Brunei’s transition toward a cleaner and more sustainable energy mix. It provides replicable exemplary practice for clean energy cooperation along the Belt and Road.
The successful commissioning of the Brunei project further expands the global application footprint of LISINER TRITON series energy storage products. Up to now, self-developed and manufactured energy storage equipment of LISINER has been successfully put into operation in multiple countries across Asia, Europe, Africa and other continents, winning high recognition from global partners with stable and outstanding operational performance.
