LISINER’s Mancheng Grid-Scale Energy Storage Project Enters Commercial Operation

Recently, the 100 MW/200 MWh standalone grid-scale energy storage project in Mancheng, Baoding invested and constructed by LISINER has completed its first official settlement.

As the first standalone grid-scale BESS in Mancheng District constructed, completed and accepted by an independent third-party entity, the project not only facilitates the coordination mechanism of the integrated industrial chain covering wind, PV, hydropower, thermal power and energy storage, but also marks a crucial step toward the market-oriented operation of independent energy storage projects.

Located in Mancheng Economic Development Zone, Baoding City, Hebei Province, the project involves a total investment of approximately 270 million yuan, covering an area of around 25 mu. It is supported by a 110 kV step-up substation and equipped with 20 sets of 5 MW/10 MWh liquid-cooled energy storage units.

As Hebei’s first string-connected standalone energy storage facility, it delivers higher efficiency, availability, and utilization than comparable conventional designs:

High Conversion Rate

>Adopting intelligent thermal management strategies and zonal thermal management mode, cutting thermal losses by 1.5% against the industry average

>Optimized cell capacity matching lifts energy conversion efficiency by 0.5%

>The string-connected solution reduces capacity loss by 10% and boosts efficiency by 10%

High Space Utilization Rate

>Space utilization is optimized through the back-to-back layout of 104S+5 MWh containers, cutting land cost by 15% and engineering cost by 10%

Minimalist operations and maintenance

>Adopting cluster-based refined management. If one cluster malfunctions, only that cluster will be powered off for maintenance, reducing downtime impact by 90% Intelligent O&M across the entire facility, with soft start for key components and automatic self-repair upon general fault alarms

Since its grid connection in February 2025, leveraging multiple capabilities including peak shaving, frequency regulation and other ancillary services and renewable energy quota leasing, the project has delivered stable and efficient regulation resources to the regional power system. Estimates show that the power station can boost power supply capacity by 56.76 million kilowatt-hours during peak demand periods, with a maximum single discharge volume of 114,000 kilowatt-hours. Its commercial operation framework covers energy trading, capacity leasing and ancillary services, effectively enhancing grid resilience and advancing the energy transition within Hebei Province.

As LISINER’s first commissioned standalone grid-scale energy storage project, the Mancheng Independent Power Station in Baoding establishes multi-energy coordination pathways of generation, grid, load, and storage based on spot market mechanisms and platform dispatching systems. It has verified the feasibility and scalability of independent energy storage under the spot market framework.

Relying on self-developed power aggregation platform and strategic operation system, LISINER forms an integrated, closed-loop service model for new energy centered on research and development, manufacturing, investment and operation. By connecting the equipment side, grid side and trading side, the company improves the response capability and revenue potential of energy storage assets, and accelerates the creation of a systematic, platform-based and sustainable revenue channel for green power.

Taking the Baoding Mancheng project as a starting point, LISINER will continuously expand energy storage applications under typical scenarios. The company will drive the transformation of independent energy storage from an access-oriented model to an operation-oriented value system, and build a more resilient and efficient new energy integrated power system.
