First in Daishan! Zhoushan LISINER Independent Energy Storage Power Station Officially Connects to the Grid

Recently, the Zhoushan LISINER Independent Energy Storage Project has been successfully connected to the grid and put into operation. With a scale of 109.5MW/219MWh, it marks the first grid-side energy storage project in Daishan, and is also listed as one of the 14th Five-Year Plan demonstration projects for new energy storage in Zhejiang Province.

Guided by the Implementation Plan for the Development of New Energy Storage during the 14th Five-Year Plan Period, LISINER advances the delivery of this project and establishes a dual guarantee system for peak shaving and valley filling as well as emergency power supply, setting a practical example for the development of multi-energy coordination and flexible support mechanisms on island scenarios.

Island-adapted Solution

Daishan County lies in the northeastern part of the Zhoushan Archipelago and ranks among the 12 key island counties nationwide. In recent years, installed wind power capacity in the region has grown rapidly. Nevertheless, constrained by climatic conditions including high salt fog, high humidity and high temperature, along with rigid grid structure and limited spare capacity, the power system faces difficulties in deploying regulation resources and bears heavy operational pressure.

Targeting dual pain points of harsh operating environment and insufficient regulation capacity, LISINER adopts the 5MWh liquid-cooled containerized energy storage system C5016L5 to deliver a modular flexible solution for sustained stable operation:

C5M anti-corrosion grade for the whole unit to resist marine salt aerosol corrosion

Wide temperature tolerance ranging from -30℃ to 55℃, suited to coastal climate conditions

Automotive-grade LFP batteries equipped with multi-level fuse protection

Real-time monitoring via Pack-level and cabin-level multi-state sensing terminals, supported by dual water and gas fire suppression

Intelligent coordinated multi-system dispatching enabling millisecond-level response

A total of 22 units of 5MW/10MWh energy storage systems are deployed in the project with standardized array structures constructed simultaneously, forming an engineering system featuring rapid deployment and flexible expansion. The project has been connected to the 110kV main grid frame of Zhoushan Power Grid. Acting as a flexible grid node, it participates in real-time dispatching and system support, carries out power quality management on the load side, and significantly improves the capacity of the regional power grid to accommodate fluctuations from new energy sources.

Delivery Within 100 Days

Faced with adverse conditions including short construction windows on islands, complicated coordination procedures and tight grid connection schedules, LISINER accelerates the whole engineering process through equipment prefabrication, parallel task execution and synchronized progress arrangement, demonstrating remarkable delivery speed. The whole construction period from site mobilization to grid connection takes only 100 days.

Multiple workstreams were coordinated throughout the project. Safety standards were strictly upheld, construction quality rigorously controlled and schedules closely managed across the whole lifecycle. The project has successfully passed special assessments including grid-connected performance testing and fire acceptance, fully demonstrating LISINER’s overall planning and execution capabilities in the investment and construction of new energy projects.

Market Synergy

Calculations show that the energy storage power station achieves an annual charging volume of over 145.2 million kilowatt-hours and an annual discharging volume of over 127 million kilowatt-hours. Based on an average household power consumption of 2,000 kilowatt-hours per year, the station can satisfy the electricity demand of 63,500 local households in Zhoushan.

Upon grid connection, the project interfaces with the power grid. Equipped with second-level frequency regulation and hour-level peak shaving capabilities, it can undertake grid tasks including peak shaving, frequency regulation, voltage regulation and emergency standby. The system platform can be connected to the virtual power plant dispatching system in the future to further boost revenue.

Supported by a complete control, response and metering system, the project features operability, calculability and sustainable operation. It serves as a typical flexible resource carrier that enables resource aggregation and implementable regulation.

System Verification

The commissioning of the Zhoushan LISINER Independent Energy Storage Project marks an important step for Daishan County in the coordinated development of source, grid, load and storage. It not only delivers solid support for the power grid to cope with peak summer demand, but also sets a benchmark independent energy storage project adapted to island conditions. It represents another practice of LISINER’s closed-loop full ecological new energy services covering research and development, manufacturing, investment and operation.

Going forward, LISINER will continuously advance high-quality delivery of green infrastructure projects in regional scenarios, help build a more resilient energy system and drive in-depth transformation of the energy structure.
